AWARDS: 2005 Alberta Centennial Medals: Congratulations to Alison Karim-McSwiney, Executive Director, International Avenue BRZ who was awarded the Alberta Centennial Medal and the Alberta Centennial Medallion. Congratulations to Gian-Carlo Carra, Professor Robert Kirby and Dr. Paul Maas the recipients of the Alberta Centennial Medallion Award for their work with the International Avenue Design Initiative. 2007 Calgary Awards Community Advocate: Organization Award was received by the C-BIZ collective. International Avenue was recently acknowledged for our crime prevention strategies with the 2008 Jim Gray Safer Calgary Award. Demographic Information: The BRZ has established a Retail Recruitment Program to increase business investment along the Avenue and attract new customers to the area.
